In her Florida studio, artist Diana Eagles creates watercolors that reflect the vibrance and abundance of the state’s natural environment as well as its ever-changing urban scene. But it’s what happens outside the studio that makes her work authentic and evocative. Whether traveling to a new destination, hiking through a forest or birdwatching in a coastal marsh, she’s constantly capturing details – with camera or sketchbook – that set her paintings apart.
“Sometimes it's the detail in the face of an animal that catches my attention,” says Diana, a Signature Member of the Florida Watercolor Society. “Other times it is a creature’s awkward pose or the way light hits areas throughout the day.” Her artistic goal is always the same: allowing the viewer to share her sense of discovery through images on paper.
